This day is always a special day for our family. The ladies of the family donate and run in Denver’s version of Komen Race for the Cure. Our local NBC affiliate 9news along with the citizens of Colorado has made this race the largest race in the country. This morning 9news is reporting we have reached an estimated 70,000 participants. Hopefully that will again prove to be the largest race.

We support The Komen Race for the Cure in memory of Nancy Paulsen. She left us because of this horrible disease a few years ago. Nancy left our family with many wonderful things. One of which was her daughter Sara, my cousin. The ladies who raced today were lucky enough this year to race with Sara. Sara flew up from Beaumont, TX to participate. I’m sure this was an emotional race for all.

The men of our family participate in many ways. Mostly by “Sleeping in for a Cure“, and playing baby sitter. We support our women in any way we can.
